I have conected my incoming internet to another router I have and wish to use WGR614v9 as wireless repeater to connect my media setup (another location) on lan. The problem is that in order to use that setup I'd have to place a cable in between the two routers, and unfortunately that's not an option. I tried inserting Linksys' MAC adress into the NetGear one's configs, making sure that the later was a repeater, had a different IP adress (out of the range of the Linksys router) and had the same SSID. Can't get into my netgear router to config it. I have tried using 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1. So far it will not give me a window to log in. It has allways work before on xp pro, but now i am using win 7 on my new computer.

I've two routers, one which i got from BSNL when opted for internet connection. Its a Utstartcom Type II wireless modem and the other which i got from a friend is Netgear WGR614 wireless modem/router.Now coming to the real picture. I've the BSNL wireless modem connected and working perfectly on the 3rd floor on one PC, but NOT configured for wireless access and i've another PC on Ground Floor where i need an internet connection. Fortunately, i got a router/modem which is Netgear WGR614. I do not want a wired connection between these two PCs then wanted to try the wireless way?

At my office we have a simple network using a Netgear WGR614 V7 router. 4 XP machines are connected via Ethernet cable and three other people are connected wirelessly (one XP laptop, one Win7 laptop and one Win 7 netbook). It appears that whenever the netbook is on the network, the other two laptops lose connectivity. The wired machines are fine. Power cycling the router and rebooting usually solves the problem.

I couldn't connect wirelessly to my NETGEAR router because of the 'DNS server isn't responding' error.I then eventually made the rather dumb mistake of doing a factory reset, so now the router isn't even in range apparently Therefore I connected to the router with a wired connection and after a 'Investigate router or broadband modem issues' error I eventually came to the error in the title.Currently I'm connected directly via my virgin modem with a wired connection, so this is my means of creating this thread.

Is it possible to configure the WRT54G as a repeater signal of the WRT120N?
I would like to use my new EA6500 as the base station and another wireless router with Wireless Repeating Function as a repeater. Is the EA6500 capable of that?? I have not found any documentation on that subject.

I have followed online guides as closely as possible but am still having troubles. My main router is working fine, everything can connect to it and gain access to internet despite having to change the security to WEP to allow for the repeater function to work. Now I am having troubles getting the repeater (WNR2000) to connect to my main router. The ip address of the repeater is listed in the connected devices of the main router and everything is managing to 'find' the repeater just fine but when I connect and put in the WEP key there is no internet connection. I read that a static ip address is needed or something like that but I am completely baffled

I am having trouble setting up my Netgear N600 dual band wireless router as a repeater to my Lynksys EA2700 (main wireless router).

I have a Netgear wireless router(WGR614 v9) and im trying to connect a second laptop to it. The laptop is accessing the internet when I have it connected to my modem via Cat 5 Patch cable.When I detach the cable from the laptop and modem, it doesn't connect to the internet. I went through the whole installing with the cd that comes with the router but after I finish I get the same results.

I have a wgr614 V6 router, yes its old. I had 3 devices connected to it just fine before without any issues. But now It only allows my laptop, when I try to connect with my ipod touch or desktop, not only does it fail, the entire network crashes and my laptop loses it and its gone. It then takes about 2 minutes to come back up. So whenever I attempt to connect with another device the network crashes. so right now only my laptop is connected.I downloaded & updated to the newest firmware, did not work.I tried resetting the router, and made the network all over again, did NOT work.

I have a Netgear DGN2000 which I use as my main router/modem. This is ADSL and works perfectly.I have added a Belkin F5Z0102 UK G Wireless ADSL Modem Router as a wireless range extender.It is connected to the Netgear via homeplug and works fine for connecting to the internet on all my gadgetry (ie internet radio, netbooks and mobile phone) via wireless and wired.My problem is when the internet radio and music player on my phone try to connect to the NAS, connected via ethernet cable to the Netgear router.I can connect to the NAS via it's IP address directly but it will not be recognised by the software on the radio or phone.However,if I connect to the Netgear router (first), it recognises it straight away.
To allow access, do I need to change the settings of the router to point to the other router in any particular way?I have specified the second router as 192.168.0.2 and this points back to the Netgear router in the settings. The SSID is different to the first because if I put it as the same, the router gets confused and I lose all connectivity. I have also disabled the DHCP settings ont he second router. Forgot to mention that it is set up as a 1483 Bridge.
